MUSIC

STAVE is my current band. Out of the three I've experienced, this one keeps me the busiest onstage and during the writing process. It also provides me the opportunity to be more creative than the "dummer drummer" my other two bands slotted me in. Comprising of only two people who sound like a foursome, David and I have our work cut out for us. He's great to play with, the music rocks, and we kick ass live, so what else is there?

sissy|space|sex was my second band. After about a year of Jenn and I finding the "right" people to join us in our noise-making endeavors, we played only three shows together. And then we imploded. Ok actually, we sort of lost our shit on stage and then completely imploded within a week or two after a few email battles.

What a beautiful band was sissy|space|sex. Without a doubt, the one that actually had a shot at "making it big!" We had everything...youth, great songs, high energy, and an abundance of resources. What we lacked was maturity and cohesion. One of my few regrets was "pushing" sissy to play a show we weren't ready to play! Who would have known it would be our last show? Sad sad shit, man. (Note: site is archived so don't give me shit if some links don't work...they're old, man.)

Lesbian Boy was one helluva band. It was my first band and the longest lasting one I've experienced thus far, taking on a four-year run (not bad for some local yokels!). We started with six and after some bad blood, went down to five. Thank god, though...three guitarists was great for Lynard Skynard but a bit much for some small stage wanna-be's. Right after we put out a full-length CD, we split up. Seems like that happens a lot with local bands...I think the stress of recording is WAY under-rated. Some of us actually still talk and that's a cool thing! (Note: this site was my first and is so bad, I'm only willing to show you the first page of the archived site). However, you can check out our '99 Pop Quiz interview with the CityPaper.
